TBox, an educational technology provider for schools, takes the lead in nurturing students to be the upcoming leaders in the digital world. It is one of the few companies in this industry with a program primarily geared toward K-12 students, emphasizing technical skills and advancing contemporary computational thinking.
“Our goal is to promote meaningful experiences through a sequence of technology-enriched activities to accomplish a task or address a problem,” says Juan Valiente, executive director of TBox.
It leverages a project-based learning (PBL) approach. This range of technological projects improves the curricula in schools, from elementary to high school. Each project provides everything required for teaching and learning, whether teacher manuals, examples, websites, or functional files.
All projects are designed under the TBox didactic strategy that provides a route to complete learning projects in four stages; research, explore, build, and apply. This methodology allows students to explore real-life problems and develop relevant solutions. TBox adheres to learning standards created by the International Society of Technology Education (ISTE), University of Cambridge, and standards developed by Microsoft and Adobe.
TBox Junior offers everything kindergarten students need to become familiar with technology, whether didactic strategies, educational resources, online platforms and applications, training, and assistance.
TBox City, which serves as the bridge that connects learning with the application of technology for concrete activities in areas like science, math, language, social studies, and art. It also incorporates digital citizenship, a crosscutting pillar, in all projects. Students can reflect on and exercise their rights and duties as citizens in the digital world. TBox Plus allows high school students to apply technology to real-world topics, making them relevant and meaningful. Each institution can select a set of projects, depending on the emphasis they like to give to their graduates.
One of the areas TBox has emphasized is STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). TBox's approach includes robotics for all educational levels, using a variety of technologies. For example, it uses technologies such as Bee-Bot in preschool and Edison in early elementary grades. In addition, TBox offers very interesting projects to familiarize students with drone programming, 3D design and virtual reality. STEAM projects enrich students' technology careers, providing more opportunities to develop their Computational Thinking.
A successful example of TBox's competencies is when it assisted an international school that serves students from all over the world. The incorporation of technological curriculum facilitated beneficial learning outcomes for its students.
Building on its solutions, TBox is empowering students to solve problems using technology and pave the way for sustainable resolutions. The impact made by TBox will further the technological education initiatives in the Latin America and ensure that students through K-12 are able to creatively and responsibly use technology.
